About Us

Megan Haley got her Master’s degree in Public Health at San Diego State University. After working on state-wide chronic disease prevention programs for many years, she learned that large public health programs can only go so far in driving healthy behaviors. Through her continuous studies, she discovered research that shows that change is much more successful when people have a coach to help guide them through the process. And she found that she found that while she did gain satisfaction from nudging large populations into healthier outcomes, her real passion was in impacting individual health and well-being. That led her to create MegaWell, a coaching business focused on working with clients to holistically improve wellness by address imbalances in all aspects of their lives.

In addition to her education and professional experience in public health, Megan is a certified Well Coach, nutrition councilor and personal fitness trainer. She also focuses on leading by example and has inspired many people by the way she lives her own life according to the core MegaWell principles.

Megan has always been an endurance athlete. For many years she competed in races from 5k to marathons. And then she found a way to combine her love for running with her need to be out in nature. She joined an adventure racing team and spent several years constantly training for overland races lasting anywhere from six hours to several days. Later she discovered ultramarathon trail racing and found that she loved the combination of physical challenge and meditation while running in trail races ranging from 50 km to 100 km. She has done trail races in the mountains, deserts and praries of Texas, Arizona, Utah and has even run from the South rim of the Grand Canyon to the bottom, up to the top of the North rim and then back to the top of the South rim.

As she has gotten older, Megan has continued to research and test out ways to “age well” and remain active and adventurous.

Megan lives in Austin, TX with her husband and two teen-age children. She actively volunteers in schools and the YMCA, providing coaching services to those who otherwise couldn’t afford them. Megan stays physically active through trail running, kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing, volleyball and horseback riding. Megan and her family are deeply connected to the mountains and the oceans and regularly go on adventures to hike, ski and surf in some of the most amazing places around the world.
